Passing Through

Was just passing through my web site and I suddenly realised that I have not posted anything since August! I do apologise for leaving you hanging. I have been very active with My Facebook Page as well as my Twitter account, that I have left this by the wayside. I need to bring this back up to speed again. I ask for your patience. Things have been pretty busy of late and I have been dealing with personal issues, one being the death of my father and then going back to work and being swamped with the workload. Apart from doing the Saturday night radio show I have aso been doign ONLINE radio shows with at least three different shows. I am not making excuses. Interesting Book To Check Out!

This book was published back in 2001 but I picked up this book recently and was totally impressed. The book is called We Got the Neutron Bomb : The Untold Story of L.A. Punk by Marc Spitz and Brendan Mullen. This book focuses on the rage, intensity, and anarchic glory of the Los Angeles punk scene, straight from the mouths of the scenesters, groupies, filmmakers, and musicians who were there. It is amzing to read the story of how The Germs started as well as bands like X, The Zeros, The Screamers, The Weirdos, The Runaways, Zolar X and a host of others! Starting in 1971 with Jim Morrison and the glitter rock invasion and ending in 1981 with the Go-Go's commercial success, this book presents raw quotations from vital scenesters, promoters, and musicians. I highly recommend this book.

LOCAL BAND, QUITO, ECUADOR: NEON PILOTS

It's been a while since I've posted a local band/artist in my blog. Well... here's one for you!
Neon Pilots are an indie/rock band who formed in 2010. it's members are Gabriel Villagomez (lead vocals and keyboard), Pablo Sempertegui (guitar and vocals), Domenico Polo (guitar and vocals), Diego Perez (drums and sequences) and Andre Pazmiño (bass and vocals). When they first started they were known as The Hotshots, but they decided to change it to NEON PILOTS in 2012 due to conceptual and esthetic preferences. All the band members are music producers and professional musicians who studied at the Institute of Contemporary Music in USFQ, within the Berklee International Network (BIN). Their first studio album is in the last phases of production, counting with the co-production of Gabriel Montufar (music producer, USFQ docent and the mix, mastering by german sound engineer Larry Frickle. All the band's music is written in English. They released their first single, "Paranoid" on local radio stations in Ecuador on January 14, 2012.(My show being the first).

A BAND AND ALBUM TO CHECK OUT

An album that I have been playing quite a bit recently is the recent one from the Belgian band Customs. Their album is called Harlequins of Love. The album reminded me so much of the debut album by Editors and also the debut album by long forgotten band The Departure. This album has something for everyone. The bouncing tracks like the new single "Toupee" and the first single "Harlequin" and the track "Only After Love" The rest of the album has some great experimental songs. I do recommend this album to you all. You will not regret it.

It's incredible to know that in just 2 months from November of 2011 to today January 4 , 2012, I gained 10,000 visits! Which brings the total of a little over 90,0000 visits!
